MONROE - Wisconsin Community Bank, announced that Ron Markham became president of the bank's Monroe market May 1. Markham's appointment follows the decision of James Finley, current president, to retire at the end of 2009 after spending nearly 30 years with the bank.
"This is a tremendous opportunity and it's an honor to be selected for such an important position for such a well-respected and community-minded bank, Markham said. "I look forward to continue to make great things happen for our clients."
With more than 15 years of banking experience, primarily in agricultural lending, Markham brings solid banking skills to the position, including extensive knowledge of the Monroe market. He has spent 12 years with Wisconsin Community Bank.
During the next several months Finley, who introduced Markham to Wisconsin Community Bank, will work on a part-time basis with him to ensure a smooth transition.
"I've enjoyed mentoring Ron and watching him grow into this position," Finley said. "His emphasis on agricultural and commercial credits along with his involvement in the community will help maintain and strengthen our strong market position in Monroe."
Markham holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He's also a member of the Monroe Lions Club, Green County Leaders, and the executive committee for Farm Technology Days in 2007.
