WIOTA - The 2011 Wiota Firemen's 4th of July celebration will be from Thursday, June 30 through Sunday, July 3.
Young men's and co-ed ball games start at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 30, and volleyball games start on Friday night, July 1.
On Saturday, the games start at 9 a.m. and continue all day. There will also be entertainment by the Swamp Bottom Boys from 7 to 9 p.m., followed by a street dance starting at 9 p.m.
On Sunday, there will be a church service in the park at 9:30 a.m., with the parade starting at noon. After the parade, there will be a presentation of a certificate in honor of the 100th birthday of the Wiota Schoolhouse, which is now owned by the Wiota Fire Department. At 6:30 p.m. there will be the annual talent show. Fireworks will conclude the celebration on Sunday night.
