Sarah Ann Martin, Monroe, and C. Paul Plaskett, Echo Bay, Ontario, were united in marriage April 4, 2009, in Riviera Maya, Mexico.
Parents of the bride are Scott and Sandy Martin of Batavia, Ill. Parents of the groom are Wilfred and Bettyanne Plaskett of Echo Bay, Ontario, Canada.
The bride wore a white organza, strapless, beaded gown with matching veil. She was given in marriage by her father, Scott Martin. They walked down the aisle to the words of "In the Moment" performed on acoustic guitar by the groom's brother Jason Plaskett.
Maid of Honor was Amy Martin, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Michelle Richard and Amy Sooley. The attendants were dressed in brown, tea length satin dresses.
Best man was Jason Plaskett, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Terry Conlin and Brendt Sheridan. Groomsmen wore khaki pants with white-collared, long-sleeved shirts and cuff links.
The ceremony was located on an open air terrace overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Guests enjoyed an outdoor cocktail hour prior to a plated dinner at a private banquet hall reception.
The bride is a graduate of Monroe High School and has earned masters degrees in both physician assistant studies and business administration. She is currently working as a clinical manager in the Department of Transplant Surgery at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
The groom is a graduate of a high school in Canada and has earned a bachelor of science degree in human biology and a doctorate in chiropractic studies. He specializes as a board certified chiropractic orthopedist in a private practice in the Chicagoland area.
The couple resides in Chicago.
