Kari Borowitz and Rick Cook were married on July 8, 2009. The ceremony took place on the beautiful sands of Cable Beach, Bahamas, at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort. The Rev. A. Dewitt Hutchinson performed the ceremony.
Parents of the bride are Biff Borowitz and Jolene Whitehead, both of Monroe. Parents of the groom are Rick and Marsha Cook, Shannon, Ill.
The bride was given in marriage by her grandfather, Milo Whitehead. Maid of Honor was Lizzie Wessels. Bridesmaids were Kelli Waefler, Katie Wenger and Stephanie Wilhelms. Personal attendant was Tammy McElmurry.
Best men were Jeremy Wilhelms and Jeff Cook, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Dean Jenkins and Jon Swartz.
The bride wore a contemporary style white gown. Her attendants wore an assortment of ocean blue gowns. The groom and his attendants wore white long sleeve dress shirts and khaki dress pants. The wedding party were all barefoot in the sand.
The reception and dance was held July 18 at Heritage Hall in Monroe.
The couple currently resides in Monroe.
