Nicole Marie Sopha, daughter of Deborah Boez, Berwyn, Ill., and Adam Christopher Grossen, McHenry, Ill., were united in marriage May 25 at the New Spirit Community Church in Oak Park. Adam Grossen is the son of Gerald and Faith Grossen, Monroe. The Rev. Bradley Mickelson performed the 2 p.m. ceremony. Piano and organ music was provided by Dan Televede. The bride was given in marriage by her mother.
Matron of honor was Melissa Schmidt, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Shannon Snider, sister of the groom, and Georgia Olson, Carmen Beck, Michelle Puzek and Lori Marino.
Best man was Mark Grossen, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Bryan Douglas and Dan Douglas, cousins of the groom, and Burt Steffus, Chad Bidlingmaier and Darren Deblack.
Matt Henke, Kevin Hoesly and Shawn Paulson served as ushers. Alysha Grossen and Ava Snider, nieces of the groom, were flower girls.
A family-style dinner and dance were held at Mama Luigi's Restaurant in Bridgeview, Ill. The wedding trip has been postponed until the bride graduates in 2010. The groom went to Canada fishing and the bride returned to classes.
The bride is a 1996 graduate of Morton West High School, Berwyn, Ill., and is in the masters program at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine in North Chicago. She is a student in the physician assistant program.
The bride chose a white satin gown featuring a strapless bodice and full tulle skirt. She wore her grandmother's bracelet and earrings and her mother's rosary. The bridesmaids wore turquoise satin two-piece strapless gowns.
The groom is a 1993 graduate of Monroe High School and a 1998 graduate of University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a bachelor's degree in agri-business. He is a branch manager with Stanley Steemer Corporation in Grays Lake, Ill.
The groom chose a black tuxedo with a dark gray vest and bow tie. His attendants wore black tuxedos with light gray vests and matching bow ties.
The couple have a new home in Mundelein, Ill.
