Wedding: Berrey-Ballard
43322a.jpg
Mallory Berrey and Joe Ballard were married on June 28, 2014 in the gardens at the home of the bride's grandmother, Rosie King, Mineral Point. Pastor Luke Smetters, Wiota Lutheran Church, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Roy and Sheila Berrey, Lyndon Station, formerly Monroe. The groom is the son of Rick and Marilyn Ballard, Monroe.

The bride was escorted by her parents. She wore a beaded 1930s inspired vintage gown with a lace train-length veil. She walked under a grape arbor built by her late grandfather, LeRoy King.

The groom wore a charcoal grey suit with green tie and suspenders.

Three flower girls, Madison, Emma and Jillain Ballard, nieces of the groom, threw dried rose petals, saved by Mallory's grandmother, Rosie. The petals were from roses that were given to Rosie from her husband, LeRoy, over the past 55 years of marriage. The rose petals signified that "The Love Story" continues on to the next generation.

The ring bearer was Jakob Berrey, nephew of the bride.

The bride and groom recited their own vows, with music provided by Jake Ballard, brother of the groom; Roy Berrey, father of the bride; and Shekinah King, cousin of the bride.

Laura Lee Berrey, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor, with Jeff Guth, friend of the bride, and Nicole Seifert, friend of the bride, as attendants.

Clark Rygh, friend of the groom, was the best man, with Alec White, cousin of the bride and friend of the groom, and Brandon Frontz, friend of the groom, as groomsmen.

Betsy and Larry Kluesner, the bride's aunt and uncle, were the ushers.

A reception and dance at Turner Hall followed the ceremony.

The bride is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and is employed at the State Lab of Hygiene, Madison, as an environmental toxicologist.

The groom is a student at Madison College, majoring in journalism.

They reside in Madison.
