NEW GLARUS — The Green County Land and Water Conservation Department and UW-Stevens Point Center for Watershed Science and Education will hold a Water Testing Educational Session on Tuesday, April 22. The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the New Glarus High School Auditorium, 1701 2nd Street, New Glarus.

Kevin Masarik, Director for the Center for Watershed Science and Education, will discuss results from annual water testing in Green County, groundwater quality trend data results, and the next steps for groundwater quality trend data testing in Green County. York, New Glarus and Adams Townships participated in the annual water testing. They will have their results mailed and can bring questions to the meeting. Masarik will discuss what factors contribute to differences in results and what the normal ranges are for the various tests. Green County Groundwater Quality Trends Data will also be highlighted at the event. This has been a county funded program that has tested well water across the county to create a baseline knowledge of our groundwater quality. Well owners will now be able to “subscribe” to the testing service to be a part of the future groundwater quality data. This new grassroots program will be unveiled at the meeting as well.

The event is free and open to anyone interested in learning more about water quality in Green County, water testing, and future opportunities for more information and participation in these fields.
