MONROE — Those looking for a way to become more active, reduce joint pain, and improve their overall health, the ADRC Green County has announced the Walk With Ease Self-Directed Program, starting April 6.
This evidence-based program, developed by the Arthritis Foundation, is designed to help participants build stamina, increase flexibility, and reduce pain — all at their own pace. Whether managing arthritis, dealing with joint stiffness, or simply starting a regular walking routine, Walk With Ease provides the structure and motivation to help individuals succeed.
Program Highlights:
● Flexible Format: Participate on your own schedule — walk when and where it works best for you.
● 6-Week Program: Receive a guidebook and weekly support to stay on track.
● Easy to Follow: Set goals, track progress, and learn tips to stay motivated and safe.
Participants will learn to:
● Manage arthritis pain through safe, effective exercise
● Set and achieve personal walking goals
● Make walking fun and rewarding
● Access resources to keep moving
Program Details:
● Dates: April 6 to May 17
● Location: Self-directed — walk anytime, anywhere
● Time Commitment: At least 3 days per week for 10-40+ minutes
● Suggested Donation: $15
Pre-registration is required. No living-in county or state requirements. Participants will need a safe place to walk, comfortable shoes, and the guidebook provided by ADRC upon registration.
