MONROE — Volunteers are needed in Monroe for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program sponsored by AARP. VITA provides free income tax assistance by preparing income tax returns for low- to moderate-income, disabled and elderly persons.
Volunteers should be comfortable working on a computer. Some income tax knowledge is helpful, but not necessary. Volunteers are required to attend free program training. Computers and software are provided.
The tax preparation season is every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning Feb. 5 and going through April 8. To volunteer, contact Angie Rogerson at 608-214-2079.
