Volunteer fair set for June 16

MONROE - The Green County Volunteer and Service Organization Fair will highlight the ways people can get involved with the many community non-profit and service organizations in this area. The theme for the event is "Help Wanted," 4-6 p.m. June 16 at the Blackhawk Technical College Monroe Campus, 210 Fourth Avenue in Monroe.

Open to the public, this free event will have representatives from more than 20 local nonprofit and service organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Way, the Humane Society, Future Forward and many others. In addition to learning about ways to help the organizations in our community, attendees will enjoy complimentary refreshments, giveaways and a free gift for the first 25 attendees.
