MONROE — With the beginning of a new school year comes the beginning of a new 4-H year, and this year, Green County 4-H is making it easier for families to experience 4-H.

Through the Discover 4-H program, families with children in Kindergarten through fifth grade can join a virtual 4-H club which will meet once a week for six weeks, Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. from Oct. 8 to Nov. 12. Each club meeting, held via Zoom, will last about 30-60 minutes and will include a hands-on project activity led by a local 4-H Educator. Project activities will focus on topics of food and nutrition, nature, robotics, art, electricity and sewing.

Families will receive a Discover 4-H kit with materials and instructions for project activities. Cost for the program is $10 for one youth and an additional $5 for each additional youth in the family.

Discover 4-H is designed for families who haven’t been involved in 4-H but would like to check out the program before committing. Current families are welcome as well. Sign up by Sept. 20 at http://bit.lyDiscover4HGreenFall2020. Families will be invoiced and payment is due prior to kit pick up.
