NEW GLARUS - The "Universe in the Park" program will be presented by the UW-Madison's Department of Astronomy at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, at the New Glarus Woods State Park.
First, at sunset, in the New Glarus Woods Amphitheater, UW Astronomy students will begin with a slide show, which includes spectacular pictures of stars and galaxies taken from the Hubble Space Telescope.
Then, when the sky is dark, everyone has the opportunity to view stars and planets through a moderate 8-inch aperture astronomical telescope. UW Astronomy Professor Eric Wilcots says, "Saturn is up and in the constellation Leo. It is quite visible in the evening sky and will be the obvious target for the night. There are also some star clusters we can look at."

This event is free.
