MONROE — David Victor, formerly of the music group Boston, and his band will combine the hits of two great American classic rock bands to perform “The Hits of Boston and Styx” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at the MHS Performing Arts Center, 1600 26th St., Monroe.

The high-energy virtuoso playing, vocals and showmanship of this band is unmatched when it comes to recreating these timeless songs, all while embodying the spirit and energy of what made Boston and Styx two of the best-loved bands of the ’70s and ’80s. Instantly recognizable hits like “More Than A Feeling,” “Amanda,” “Come Sail Away,” “Lady,” and more make this show a rock concert experience on par with the classic bands themselves.

As a former vocalist and guitarist for the multi-platinum band Boston, David Victor performed on back-to-back North American tours in 2012 and 2014 and recorded the No. 1 charting classic rock single “Heaven on Earth” while with that band. Now forging his own path, the versatile singer is touring his passion-fueled performance with, not only the favorite hits of Boston and Styx, but music that influenced the band members’ careers and, for the first time ever, original music written by Victor and the band.

The band features a lineup of talented musicians and vocalists. Bassist Manny Aguirre handles complex melodic lines with groove and dexterity, and guitarist/keyboardist Victor Bender moves easily from dizzying keyboard arrangements to blistering rhythms on guitar. Drummer and percussionist Glen Jost and rock guitarist Roby Duron round-out the band members. All five men sing and perform a spotlight song on lead vocals.

In 2013, David Victor also appeared with Aerosmith at the sold-out Boston Strong Benefit for the Boston Marathon bombing victims. He helped close the show, singing the final song “Come Together,” on stage with Steven Tyler.
