VFW community certificates for Brodhead first responders

BRODHEAD — On Monday, Oct. 21 at the Brodhead city council meeting, the VFW Post 6858 presented the Brodhead Police Department, EMS and Fire Department certificates of appreciation for the actions taken on June 29 during the parade in Brodhead that saved the life of Ken Joyce, the VFW chaplain. 

After marching in the parade and was on his way back to the post, Ken had a massive heartache and the quick action taken by Police Chief Brian Raupp, Bambi Pryce, EMS and first responders saved his life. 

Ken is doing better and working on getting back to normal and was able to personally hand the awards to the representatives from each of the departments.
