As First Lady, Eleanor Roosevelt cantered her horse on the streets of the District of Columbia, stopped an out-of-control, extremely boisterous Democratic convention single-handedly and traveled to the Pacific theater in World War II by herself to talk and listen to the enlisted men for 20 hours each day.
