MONROE - The Green County UW-Extension office in coordination with the Green County Development Corporation is hosting a session on Sustainability and Comprehensive Planning from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20. The session is part of the Building Communities educational series, developed by the UW-Extension Center for Community and Economic Development. The Building Communities educational series is offered via live, interactive Web, allowing participants to gather at a local site and interact with presenters and other participants around the state. The series runs from October 2008 to June 2009 and is focusing on sustainability for Wisconsin communities.
Green County participants meet at Yodel Hall in the Government Services Building located at N3150B Wisconsin 81 just outside of Monroe. Participants are encouraged to pre-register by calling Cara Carper at (608) 328-9441. Drinks will be provided and participants are welcome to bring their lunch while attending. The January program will feature Anna Haines, Director, Center for Land Use Education, UW-Stevens Point. This webinar will focus on infusing sustainability concepts (the three E's of Economy, Environment, and Equity, and The Natural Step principles) into the elements of the comprehensive plan.
