BELMONT — Many individuals hope to live well in their later years and ensure that their end‑of‑life plans reflect their personal values and wishes. Yet the process of planning can feel complex and overwhelming. To support individuals and families through these important decisions, the UW-Madison Division of Extension is offering Planning AHEAD, a comprehensive educational program focused on end‑of‑life planning.

This free, in‑person program will be held at the John Turgeson Public Library in Belmont, Wisconsin, and will be facilitated by Bob Wiegel, Human Development and Relationships Educator with the UW-Madison Division of Extension. Sessions will take place on Mondays from February 16 through March 30, from 3-4 p.m.

In addition to the in‑person offering, Planning AHEAD will also be available virtually via Zoom on Thursdays from February 12 through March 26, from 4:45-5:45 p.m.

The Planning AHEAD program addresses key aspects of end‑of‑life planning, including:

●  Health care wishes and advance directives

●  Financial responsibilities and legal documentation

●  Distribution of personal property

●  End‑of‑life decisions and funeral planning

●  Emotional considerations and coping with grief

Participants will receive a comprehensive planning workbook designed to help organize tasks, decisions, and important documents, making the process more manageable for themselves and their loved ones.

This program is well suited for individuals planning for their own future as well as those who support family members or loved ones through end‑of‑life transitions.

Registration is now open. To register, call 608‑776‑4820 or 608‑482‑0620. For additional information, contact bob.wiegel@wisc.edu.
