DIXON, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that work on U.S. 20 in Stephenson County began May 12. The work zone will be from Rees Road near Lena to Flansburg Road near Freeport. 

Work will mill and resurface the road. There will be daytime lane closures controlled by flaggers during the $1.6 million project, which is expected to be completed by July.
