MONROE - Union Presbyterian Church's adult choir will present the cantata "Once Upon A Tree" by Pepper Choplin at its 10 am. worship service, on Palm Sunday, April 17
The cantata tells the story from the entrance on Palm Sunday to the crucifixion through narration, music, and drama.
Members of the choir are: Bob Ambrose, Susan Anderson, Bobbi Bernet, Hans Bernet, Sarah Bodell, Dennis Cappel, Larry Coffey, Natalie Dillon, Tracy Dillon, Katie Doyle, Tina Duemler, Nan Edmunds, Jonna Heins, Judy Knudtson, Cindi Miller, Daryl Miller, Gerry Miller, Jo Ellen Mosher, Paul Nelson, Kathy Reffue, Brad Richardson, Marilyn Sandin-Ross, Jacob Scherer, Donna Schluesche and George Vernon.
Soloists for the cantata are: Anderson, Hans Bernet, and Richardson. Scherer will narrate.
Those participating in the drama are: Reffue, Bob Knudtson and David Mosher as disciples; Bill Ross and Al Hudson as soldiers, and Patrick Bodell as Jesus. Linda Garrow will be assisting. Costumes were provided by Gaida Vickerman. The choir is accompanied by Erica Hegi and directed by Maynard Heins.
