MONROE - Monroe United Methodist Church is hosting a Sunday School kick-off and family festival on Sunday, Sept. 7, at the church, 2227 Fourth St., Monroe. Activities begin at 9:15 a.m. with "Meet the Teachers" and a variety of family activities and treats including a dessert auction.

The worship service will be held at 10:45 a.m. A family picnic will follow at noon. Food and drink is furnished by the church. A free will offering appreciated.
