MONROE - Green County Land and Water Conservation Department is offering nine varieties of hardwood trees and three varieties of shrubs for landowners interested in planting trees in the spring of 2013.
The tree varieties include Bur Oak, Red Oak, Swamp White Oak, White Oak, Sycamore, Sugar Maple, Shagbark Hickory and Butternut. Shrubs that are available include Nannyberry, Hazel Nut and Ninebark. The cost is $2 a tree with a minimum order of 10 of one species.
Orders will be taken until Friday, Dec. 28. The scheduled delivery of trees is in April 2013.
