MONROE - The Green County 4-H program is a cooperative program between Green County and the University of Wisconsin Extension System (UWEX). All families with youth in grades 3-13 are invited to join a 4-H community club in Green County, and youth grades K-2 are welcomed to join the same club and participate in the Cloverbud/Exploring Program. The Green County 4-H year runs from Sept. 1 through Aug. 31. 4-H Clubs are currently in the process of enrolling new and returning members.

The Green County 4-H Program is family-driven and family-orientated, and provides "Learning by Doing" programs and opportunities for youth, as well as develops youth as leaders in their communities.

4-H is for all youth, living in a city, town or rural area. Approximately 40 percent of Green County's 4-H members live in the city of Monroe or in outlying communities.

4-H is a year-round, educational youth program for kids interested in working on new projects, learning new life skills, making new friends and having fun in the process.

Currently in Green County, 19 4-H clubs and approximately 600 youth take an active part in our growing youth service organization. Local clubs meet on a monthly basis, with members and their families participating in a variety of activities together. Each club is led by adult volunteers who enjoy sharing their skills with other interested 4-H members.

Youth can choose projects from the following areas of interest: Animal Sciences, Communication Arts, Cultural Arts, Health Sciences, home and family mechanical sciences, natural sciences, and plant and soil sciences. Dozens of projects are offered in 4-H, but not every club offers every project.

The Green County UW-Extension Office is located at the Green County Government Services Building in Monroe.
