MONROE — The Monroe Fund, a component of The Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, awarded over $68,000 in grants recently to local nonprofit organizations and projects working to strengthen the community and meet local needs.
In addition to the Monroe Fund, grants were also awarded from the Monroe Fund’s family of funds: Etter Legacy Fund, Reasa Charitable Fund, Dr. Fred W. & Alice J. Kundert Charitable Fund, Reasa Historic Preservation Fund, CLAIR Fund, Ray and Betty Stamm Charitable Fund, Robert B Olson Endowment Fund for Monroe High School Investment Club and The Monsignor Thomas F. Campion Charitable Fund. Since the Fund started in 1996, it has awarded more than 625 grants totaling more than $1,041,000.
With the support of donors who are inspired to leave a lasting legacy in the community, the Monroe Fund serves as an endowment for community improvement projects. Annually, a portion of the fund’s earnings are given back to the community in the form of grants. The fund supports a variety of community projects that enhance the arts, education, health and human services, the environment, historic preservation, and more.
The Monroe Fund and its family of funds are components of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin, a non-profit public foundation serving nine southern Wisconsin counties.
