MONROE — The American Battlefield Trust and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) have developed a traveling pop-up exhibition that will visit communities throughout the USA. This innovative exhibition features a combination of display panels and interactive digital kiosks offers an engaging look at the people and places that influenced the birth of the United States.
In celebration of America’s 250th birthday, the Colonel Benjamin Harrison Chapter of the DAR, in partnership with the Monroe Public Library, have secured the exhibition for display on the library’s first floor April 14-20. The exhibition will be available for viewing during regular library hours: Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Monroe Public Library is located at 925 16th Ave, Monroe, and can be reached at 608-528-7010.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a women’s service organization whose members can trace their lineage to an individual who contributed to securing American independence during the Revolutionary War. Today’s DAR is dynamic and diverse, with over 185,000 members in 3,000 chapters in the United States and abroad.
