MONROE - Area students entering sixth to 12th grade are encouraged to participate in "Own the Night," the Monroe Public Library's teen summer library program from June 4 to July 26.
Teens can come to the library and pick up a brochure with a calendar of activities.
Registration can be done online beginning Monday, June 4, or at the youth services desk. Participants will read four books and write four book reviews. Each review turned in earns a prize.
Four reviews earn a ticket to the end of the summer "Own the Night Mardi Gras Lock-in" on Friday July 27. The library's teen area will have weekly trivia and drawings all summer long.
The "Own the Night" teen summer library program is sponsored by the Monroe Public Library, the South Central Library System, YALSA, Dairy Queen, and Pizza Hut.
