ALBANY — Third grade teacher Sara Freitag was selected from 127,000 educators to receive $500 from the James Patterson and Scholastic Book Clubs Giveaway in early September.

This award is meant to help build Freitag’s classroom library to ensure every student finds books to read.  The first half of the money was used in September. The second half of the award will be spent on more reads throughout the school year.
