MONROE — Volunteers are needed in Monroe for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program sponsored by American Association of Retired Persons/Tax Aide. 

AARP/Tax Aide provides free income tax assistance by preparing income tax returns for low to moderate income persons. 

Volunteers should be comfortable working on a computer. Some income tax knowledge is helpful. Computers and software are provided. Volunteers are required to attend in person training and self study. 

The tax season runs from February 2 until April 8, 2026.
