Summer Fair on the Square this weekend

MONROE - Monroe Main Street brings a full day of activities for all ages to the Square this Saturday, Aug. 9, for Summer Fair on the Square.

It is "Arts Weekend" at the Farmer's Market starting at 7 a.m. on the south side. Area artisans will join the local growers and producers in displaying and in some cases engaging in their art.

Family activities including games for children, a juggler performance, a bouncy house, M.A.S.E skate demonstrations, concession stand and new this year, a wet sponge toss, will occur from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the north side of the Square. The Celebrity Pie Eating contest will be at 2 p.m.

Starting at 4 p.m. music will dominate the Square for the 4th annual M.A.S.E. Music Fest.

The afternoon line-up includes "Viduus," "Skinner Hollow" and "Cold Ground Low Sky." At 6:30 p.m. "Fedora" will take the Courthouse stage.
