WASHINGTON, D.C.- Logan Wells, a University of Wisconsin-Madison student who represents Wisconsin FFA, was one of four Wisconsin college students who attended meetings with legislators and shared their passions for agriculture, along with their career plans, on National Ag Day.

Wells, along with Kate Griswold of UW-Madison, representing Agriculture Future of America, and Kallie Jo Kastenson of UW-Platteville and Katie Stenroos of UW-River Falls, both representing Wisconsin 4-H, visited with Senator Ron Johnson, Representative Reid Ribble and staff members of Mark Pocan and Tammy Baldwin on Tuesday, March 25.

Wells is pursuing a forestry science major and hopes to expand his business. Griswold is majoring in life sciences communications, Kastenson is majoring in agriculture education and Stenroos is majoring in animal science with an equine emphasis.

The Agriculture Council of America sponsors 100 student representatives of FFA, AFA, 4-H and Student NAMA from across the country to participate in National Ag Day activities on Capitol Hill. Ag Day is celebrated in Washington, D.C., with a mix-and-mingle luncheon and the National Celebration of Agriculture Dinner held on March 25 with industry representatives.

This is the 41st anniversary of National Ag Day, which is celebrated in classrooms and communities across the country.
