MONROE - Six juniors from Albany High School joined students from throughout Green County to participate in Government Day April 26.

The day was hosted by members of the American Legion, and lunch was provided to the students by the auxiliary.

The students toured the Green County Justice Center and the jail. Presentations were given by the county tourism director, the administrator of Pleasant View Nursing Home, City Administrator Phil Rath and members of the sheriff's department. The culminating event was a mock trial regarding the issue of drug use and its consequences under the law.
