ALBANY - Alexis Kennedy's poster theme was the D1 first-place winner in the Albany Lions club poster contest. Her poster depicted a dove in front of a tree of peach with its branches reaching to the countries of the world.
The annual peace poster contest begins with various Lions Clubs from each district running contests in local schools and organizations. The winners advance to district competition. There is judging of these entries on the district level submitted for first, second, and third place. The first-place winner is then sent to the council chair, with a deadline date of Dec 1.
After receiving the 10 entries, one from each district, another judging is performed. The First Place winner is sent to Lions Clubs International to be entered for judging at the international level.
