JANESVILLE - Several Green County students were winners of 2009 Gold Cup trophies for piano at the Federation of Music Festival held in Janesville. The students auditioned in memorized piano solo and/or piano hymn playing. In order to qualify for a trophy, students must earn 15 points. Points are based on the successful performances of two memorized solos or hymns and annually range from one to five points. After earning one trophy, students may work for additional trophies.

• Piano solo, second trophy: Christopher Baird, Cole Farris, Vincent Peterson

• Piano hymn playing, first trophy: Carissa Brooks, Kristina Scheppele

• Piano hymn playing, second trophy: Brittany Miller

• Piano hymn playing, third trophy: Kiera Berger

They are all students of Rita Farris.
