JUDA - Winners of the 2016 "The Class of 1967 - We Remember Our Nine Angels Scholarship" are Derrick Byrne and Kelsey Cramer. Each of the two recipients received an $800 award at the honors program held at Juda High School on May 18.

The Nine Angels Scholarship was established in 2010 by the surviving classmates of the nine girls who were killed March 30, 1967, while on their senior class trip when a Douglas DC-8 on a training flight at the New Orleans International Airport crashed into the Hilton Hotel where the girls were staying.

The scholarship is designed to be perpetual and to help assure that the nine girls are never forgotten.
