STOCKTON — Since the 1961 Civil War centennial, a dedicated group of Galenians has donned period uniforms, polished boots, and sabers to honor the city’s nine generals. At parades, festivals, and special events throughout the Midwest, the Nine Galena Generals delight and educate the public about a critical time in our nation’s history.
On March 15 at 2 p.m., the Stockton Heritage Museum welcomes two of these esteemed interpreters. In Pottery, Pistols, and Patriotism, Sal Piro as Major General Augustus L. Chetlain and Lynn Pehlke as Brigadier General Jasper A. Maltby will take us back in time, sharing the stories of two men whose leadership shaped both Galena and the Civil War.
