STOCKTON — Stockton Heritage Museum will host a Volunteer Orientation Meeting for the 2025 season at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 19. The meeting will take place at the Stockton Heritage Museum, 107 West Front Street in Stockton.
This orientation and training session is for all volunteers. Those interested in being museum hosts for 2025 should check their calendars before coming so they can sign up for hosting dates. Attendees will have the opportunity to take a tour of the museum, see our current exhibits, learn about future programs, and visit with other volunteers. Refreshments will be served.
The museum offers a broad range of volunteer opportunities:

● Be a museum host — Saturday and Sundays, May through October
● Schedule and coordinate volunteer hosts
● Help set up new displays
● Present a program — tell your story
● Identify and archive new additions to our collections
● Sort and file papers and documents
● Help with research projects
● Help with mailings, fold letters, stuff envelopes
● Build cool stuff for the museum
● Provide muscle — do the heavy lifting to move large items as needed
● Work on the train display
● Run the train display — Saturday and Sundays, May through October
Museum staff hopes to see many of its valued regular volunteers and new faces too. No experience is required and volunteer training is available. For those interested that have a special interest or skill to share, come to the meeting. Those that are unable to attend should call the museum at 815-947-2220 or send an email to info@stocktonheritagemuseum.org to discuss volunteer opportunities.
Stockton Heritage Museum volunteers are the lifeblood of the organization. The museum is grateful for those who help in many ways to keep the doors of the museum open. The organization and museum would not exist without the service and talents of our volunteers.
