As warmer temperatures descend on the region, those out and about in the sun seek a variety of ways to deal with the heat. On June 19, kids out of school played at Twining Park’s Splash Pad and at the Monroe Municipal Pool, while others, like dogs and their human companions, find refuge in the shade downtown on the square.
Temperatures this weekend are supposed to peak at more than 90 degrees on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, with the heat index likely to top over 100 degrees. High temperatures over the following seven days are scheduled to be consistently in the mid-80s.
