Stateline Classics Car Show
1B car show
The ice cream social included a car show held to make up for a car show that was canceled after 20 minutes due to threatening weather back in June.

DURAND, Ill. — The Stateline Classics Car Club is revving up for its 25th anniversary car show. This years’ Father’s Day car show, slated for June 20, will be the last presented by the Stateline Classics Car Club.

The club has decided to offer this successful car show to any younger group that would like to take this charity event on. They will become the Stateline Cruise Club, having a monthly car cruise during the summer months to places of interest to their members. Interested groups can ask club members about continuing the yearly event. There will be club members to assist in the organization of a new start for the yearly car show.

This year, the show promises to be a celebration of the club’s 25 years. The show during the years has welcomed cars from five states. There will be plenty of food available from local restaurants and a food vendor that has been a constant participant. The Durand Ditch Riders Food Booth has been with the show since its inception. Families can bring their children, and they will see modified vehicles with chrome engines, old cars that are like brand new, customized cars and even cars that are driven every day. Participants can register from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. June 20 with the first 200 entries receiving a dash plaque. There is a registration fee of $10 per car. Judging will begin right after noon with the many trophies being presented at 2:30 p.m.

There is no admission fee except to enter a car, so come have a wonderful family outing with dad.

All proceeds go towards local charities and to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
