MONROE - Recently Pope Benedict encouraged we, the faithful, to nourish ourselves with love of Christ in the Eucharist in his homily, the Holy Father explained that though we are inadequate due to sin, we need to nourish ourselves "from the love the Lord offers us in the Eucharistic Sacrament." Come share with other women a renewal our faith in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Pope Benedict says, "Such faith must not be taken for granted!"
There is always a strong temptation to reduce prayer to superficial and hurried moments, allowing yourselves to be overcome by earthly activities and concerns and remember that in the Eucharist, "heaven comes down to earth, God's tomorrow descends into the present moment and time is, as it were, embraced by divine eternity."
Take the time to travel a journey with other women on Friday, July 10. The event begins with Mass at 9:30 a.m., one hour of eucharistic adoration and benediction at St. Victor Parish in Monroe. At noon in Nilles Hall, a ladies luncheon and fellowship will be followed by guest speaker, Father Anthony Kopp, O. Praem. Father Anthony will share several roads to and for vocations: How do we hear the Call? How do we follow in Mary's vocation to support and help others 'hear their call' as she was mother, teacher, student, and follower in Jesus' journey? Are we being called? What is our vocation? How can we mirror Mary's example as mother, teacher, follower, and supporter of Jesus who said 'yes' to His Father's Call?
Father Anthony is a Nobertine priest associated with St. Michael's Abbey in Silverado, California. He is vice principal/athletic director at Mary Star of the Sea school in San Pedro, Calif.
Luncheon menu includes chicken salad on croissant, green salad, fresh fruit, dessert, iced tea, lemonade, water, coffee or tea.
Reservations are due no later than July 6. Cost is $10 per person. Send to CDA Court Mazzuchelli No. 2609-Green County; in care of Recording Secretary Toni Blum Seitz, W6305 Hefty Road, Monticello, WI 53566 or e-mail: CourtMazzuchelli@luckymail.com.
The event is sponsored by Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court Mazzuchelli No. 2609, Green County.
