MONROE - The Circle of Friends, a vocal trio comprised Pam Wyss, mezzo; Deb Krattiger, alto; Brenda Payne, pianist; and Deborah Krauss Smith, soprano and St. John's organist-director of music, will sing "Lamb of God," "The Via Dolorosa" and "For What Earthly Reason" as part the 7 p.m. Good Friday service at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1724 14th St. in Monroe. Krattiger will also play an arrangement of "Were You There?" on saxaphone. The 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday service features a dramatic reading about Jesus' last week, followed by the Sanctuary Choir's presentation of a moving silent drama, the "Stripping of the Altar." Easter Sunday services are at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in the church's sanctuary with festive music. The Rev. Dr. William Heath will speak on "Joy and Peace." Communion will be served at the Maundy Thursday and Easter Sunday services.
