St. John’s Lena announces Lent, Easter services

LENA — St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lena, Illinois, has announced its Lent and Easter Worship schedule.

This is open to the public. The Lenten season begins with worship services at 7 p.m. on Ash Wednesday, March 6. Subsequent evening services during Lent will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday evenings. Good Friday, April 19, worship service will also be at 7 p.m. 

Easter weekend there will be no Saturday service on April 20. Easter Sunday there will be three services at 7 a.m., 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. April 21. 

Regular weekend worship services are at 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 8 and 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. Children’s Sunday school, conducted using Bible Learning Activity Stations, and adult Bible classes are 9:15 to 10:15 a.m.

Ash Wednesday and Sunday worship services during Lent will be built on a unified theme, “Let My People Go,” based on the book of Exodus.
