SSM Monroe honored for organ donations
UW Organ and Tissue Donation honors SSM Health Monroe Hospital with dual awards for maximizing the gift of life

MONROE — SSM Health Monroe Hospital is proud to announce it has received two prestigious awards from the University of Wisconsin’s Organ and Tissue Donation (UW OTD) program, recognizing the hospital’s unwavering commitment to saving and enhancing lives through organ and tissue donation.

The hospital was presented with the Bronze Award of Hope for its outstanding performance in organ donation, and the Tissue Excellence Award for surpassing established goals in authorizing tissue donation as part of compassionate end-of-life care.

“These awards are a testament to the dedication and compassion of our clinical teams, who work tirelessly to honor the wishes of donors and their families,” said Michele Schiess, Director of Acute Care and Emergency Services at SSM Health Monroe Hospital. “We are grateful to be recognized for our efforts in supporting this life-saving mission.”

The UW OTD program annually honors hospitals that demonstrate excellence in supporting organ and tissue donation. SSM Health Monroe Hospital remains committed to fostering a culture of donation and continuing its partnership with UW OTD to bring hope and healing to those in need.
