MONROE — Ruth Hosto, RN, SSM Health Monroe Hospital Inpatient nurse, is the newest recipient of the DAISY Award. Ruth been a nurse with SSM Health Monroe Hospital for 24 years.

Ruth was nominated by the families of two different patients. One nomination shared that “Ruth has taken care of my grandmother a couple times since she has been admitted. She shows such a tremendous amount of compassion and kindness. She would always make sure my grandmother had everything she needed before leaving the room and would frequently check on me as well. It can be tiring taking care of both the patient and their family, but Ruth always has a positive attitude and encourages us to be optimistic. Ruth’s kind soul makes our family feel at ease knowing our loved one is receiving such extraordinary care.”

The DAISY Award is a nationwide program that celebrates the extraordinary clinical skill and compassionate care delivered by nurses every day. Ruth is one of three million nurses nationwide who represent the largest healthcare profession. SSM Health Monroe Hospital and Monroe Clinic Medical Group employs over 300 nurses serving patients throughout southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
