MONROE — SSM Health announced this week that Chelsea Hardacre has been named President of SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital — Janesville, SSM Health Monroe Hospital and SSM Health Monroe Clinic Medical Group.

Hardacre brings more than 12 years of health care management experience to the role. She first joined SSM Health Monroe Hospital in 2015 and became Monroe’s Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in March 2020. She also became Janesville’s CNO in December 2023. 

Prior to taking on leadership responsibilities, Hardacre worked for years as a bedside oncology nurse.

In March 2025, Hardacre received SSM Health’s highest honor — the Presidential Coin — for exemplify a commitment to living the Mission of SSM Health. She was named interim president of SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital — Janesville, SSM Health Monroe Hospital and SSM Health Monroe Clinic Medical Group in late December 2025, following the retirement of former president Jane Curran-Meuli.
