South Wayne blood drive exceeds quota, collects 42 pints

SOUTH WAYNE - The Red Cross Blood Drive at Marty's Village Inn Wednesday exceeded its quota by four pints.

The quota for the day was 38 pints with 42 pints collected and 40 potential donors presenting. Three were deferred with five people giving doubles.

Miranda Lomas was a first-timer. Jim Meier met his 13th-gallon mark. Giving doubles were Richard Leuzinger, Keith Jackson, Jackie Boss, Herb Tornow and Steve Bechtolt.

Other donors were Elaine Renken, David Renken, Candance Gross, Cheryl Dale, Grant Dale, Dorothy Seffrood, Sue Gerloff, Richard Fernstaedt, Mary Zimmerman, Joan Jensen, Carolyn Signer, Mary McKnight, Kenny Schmitz, Donald Seffrood, Robert Hull, Connie Meier, Judy Curran, Helen LaDow, Carol Ruegsegger, Jason Furman, Jackie Ritschard, Suzanne Robertson, Monica Koch, Steve Ruegsegger, Lonnie Stauffer, Margaret Miller, Janet Gobeli, Steve Gobeli, Ashley Fox, Chad Stephenson, Hailey Heins, Roberta Bell and William Bell.

Donating to the canteen were Valley View, cheese; South Wayne Mart, milk; Carole Broge, sandwiches and cookies; Joyce Paulson, sandwiches; and Connie Meier, coffee, crackers, cookies and sandwiches.

Helpers for the day were Joyce Paulson, Carole Broge, Taylor Broge and Connie Meier.
