MONROE — Ten Sons of Norway volunteers safely collected ten bags of trash and recyclables from their Adopt A-Highway section of Wis. 81 on April 26.

They met at Pleasant View and Veterans Park and collected trash from Wis. 11 to County Road J. Earlier pick-up dates were canceled for weather, but the sun shined on the 26th. Jan Johnson picked up safety vests, collection sacks, and highway worker signs  from Green County.

County crews are scheduled to pick up bagged materials for disposal.

Volunteers noted spring roadsides collection benefits are shorter weeds and aluminum cans that are not shredded by mowers.
