SLANT bust leads to charges

TOWN OF WASHINGTON — Two arrests resulted from a residential warrant search by the Stateline Area Narcotics Taskforce (SLANT) on Saturday, Sept. 11. Following an investigation, the warrant was for a residence located in the N5500 blk State HWY 69 of the Town of Washington.

Derek Scott Hammer, 34 of Shannon, Ill. was arrested for two counts disorderly conduct (domestic abuse related), battery (domestic abuse related), possession of THC (felony), possession of cocaine (2nd offense), two counts felon in possession of a firearm, two counts child neglect, maintaining a drug trafficking dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hammer’s initial appearances was Sept. 13 and he is due back in court for a preliminary hearing Sept. 23.

Melissa Ann Trumpy, 36 of Monticello, was arrested for child neglect, possession of THC, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was later released pending an initial court appearance.

In assistance with SLANT, the Green County Deputies, Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Green County Human Services, Stateline Area Narcotics Taskforce, Green County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team, Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team, and Monroe Police Dept. Emergency Response Team aided in the investigation and conduction of the search warrant.
