The sixth annual Arctic Ale and Art Walk will take place from 12-4 p.m. on Feb. 22.

FREEPORT — The Greater Freeport Partnership will host the sixth annual Arctic Ale and Art Walk on Thursday, Feb. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. More than 15 participating businesses will feature local artists and offer a chance to taste a favorite ale. Tasting cups will be available for a cost and can be purchased the day of the event.

Start the day at the Partnership office, 110 W. Main Street, Freeport, to get a wristband and event tasting cup. A list of participating locations and additional event information will be available at the check-in location and can also be found at greaterfreeport.com/arcticale or by downloading the Greater Freeport Partnership mobile app.

Artists and artisans in local shops will showcase their talents, with opportunities to purchase their work and take home something special for a personal collection. Artists’ media will include paintings, photography, pottery, fiber arts, jewelry, and more.

“We’re thrilled to bring another exciting Arctic Ale and Art Walk to Downtown Freeport. This event is a local favorite, helping us get through the winter months and encouraging residents and visitors to explore our wonderful shops, no matter the weather. Shop local and enjoy amazing art and ale tasting and bring the family along — some artists will even offer hands-on activities,” said Partnership Events and Engagement Manager Katie Gentz.

Feb. 22 will also mark the first Freeport Festival District date of the year. On this designated festival district day, patrons can purchase a beverage (whether as part of the event or otherwise) and carry it throughout downtown, enjoying attractions, shopping, and dining from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Greater Freeport Partnership is a collaboration of business, community, visitor, and economic development services with the mission to drive economic growth for Freeport and Stephenson County.
