MONROE -The Gavin Breadon Memorial Glass Silent Auction is continuing through Saturday, Aug. 18 at the Monroe Arts Center, 1315 11th St. It began Tuesday, Aug. 7.

Money raised will go toward high school graduation scholarships and youth athletic scholarships.

Art pieces were designed, crafted and donated by Monroe native Eoin Breadon, who is an associated professor at University of Wisconsin-River Falls. There are 19 pieces Breadon designed in memory of his brother Gavin, ranging from bowls, wine jugs and vases to a replica of a glass of Guinness stout.

Final bids will be accepted at the intermission of the Truman's Ridge concert. At the end of the concert, the winning bidders will be announced.

The 10th annual Gavin Breadon Memorial Swim Meet was held in June. At that time, 11 high school seniors received a scholarship and a memorial shirt.

More information is available by contacting Gabrielle Breadon at (608) 328-4817.
