MONROE - Sign-up for the Monroe Public Library summer reading programs begins June 1, with three different programs based on age.
For children in fifth grade and under, sign-up is in the Children's Room. Kids will receive a free book at sign-up and a challenge sheet to complete during June. After June, they can return for their choice of a prize pack and a second challenge sheet to complete in July.
The teen program "Get in the Game" is for grades six through 12. During June and July, teens can read three books and fill out a short review for each one to earn prizes and be entered into a prize drawing. Teens get a free book for signing up.
There also is a summer reading program for adults. Adults who sign up between June 1 and 8 will be entered into a raffle. Adults can fill out a short review sheet for each book they read through the first week in August to be entered into weekly prize drawings. Each prize winner will receive a library tote full of books and other treats.
