Senior Resource Center to host April Lunch & Learn: ‘Titanic: A Journey through History’

FREEPORT — The Senior Resource Center invites community members to attend its April Lunch & Learn program, “Titanic: A Journey through History,” on Thursday, April 9 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Activity Room at the Senior Resource Center in Freeport.

This engaging presentation will explore the fascinating story of the RMS Titanic and the voyage that made it one of the most famous ships in history. Attendees will learn about its ill-fated maiden voyage and the events that captured the world’s attention and cemented the Titanic’s place in history.

The presentation will be led by Mary VanRaden, who has been fascinated by the Titanic and its stories for decades. Over the years, she has developed an extensive collection of memorabilia related to the Titanic and enjoys sharing her knowledge and passion for the ship’s history with others.

Perfect for those who enjoy history, stories of the sea, and fascinating facts from the past, the program offers an opportunity to learn and connect with others in a relaxed setting.

The event is free and open to the public, though advance registration is encouraged due to limited seating. Guests are invited to bring a sack lunch to enjoy during the presentation.
